Straight line speed isn’t everything though. Thankfully, the suspension is wonderful. I hit a few corners at a good speed, but it was completely undramatic. If I’m going to make the 335i sweat, I’m going to need some meaner corners than there garden variety ones.

BMW has announced that the BMW 335i coupe will have all-wheel-drive as an option. The 328i coupe already has the AWD option. Audi's success with their Quattro AWD systems has promted BMW to add AWD to more of their vehicles.
The 335i coupe will still have the same 300 horsepower as the RWD version, but due to the added traction, the AWD version is actually faster than both the automatic and manual versions of the regular 335i coupe (OK, well its only by 0.1 seconds).
The XDrive AWD system allows variable distribution of drive forces between the front and rear wheels depending on available traction.

Comfort suffers a bit though, between the sporty suspension and the Bavarian’s inexplicable love of run-flat tires, bumps in the road translate quite clearly into bumps in the butt. Now I don’t think BMW should change the suspension a bit, but for the love of all that is holy just let us have a normal tire.
The BMW 335i’s engine makes twisting, gollywiggling roads like those of Marin County, California, where BMW introduced the new BMW coupe, easy to drive. There’s no worry about falling off the torque table, wide as it is, and there’s no need to flail it through corners to be able to launch it down the next straight. Not that the N54 won’t rev smoothly. The torquey six is just all the more relaxed, if a charge from 0-60 in 5.3 second is the way you relax.
