2011 Mazda rx 8

                   2011 Mazda rx 8
                2011 Mazda rx 8
The RX-8 is a compact RWD sports car powered by a 1.3 liter rotary engine that can spin to 9,000 RPM. The RX-8 also has a second set of reverse-opening rear doors, which like the rotary engine is a feature no other sports car has.
                                        2011 Mazda rx 8
The RX-8′s rotary powerplant is unlike any other. No pistons – and a super tiny 1.3 liters. A pair of rotors spin on a common crankshaft, and this reduction in rotating mass allows for a motorcycle-like operating range from 0-9,000 RPM. Peak power for manual-equipped versions is 232 hp; models equipped with the optional six-speed automatic are detuned a little to 212 hp, with redline cut back to 7,500 RPM.Because of its unique design and operating characteristics, there’s no way to compare the Mazda’s rotary engine with conventional piston engines.
                                         2011 Mazda rx 8
However, it’s not all bad. The RX-8’s rotary engine weighs a lot less than conventional internal combustion engine designs and this translates into nimble handling out on the road. The suspension can be a bit firm for some tastes, especially when road surfaces aren’t the best, but this pays off in the directness of the steering and the easiness in which you can throw the car around a corner.
                                       2011 Mazda rx 8
There’s no mistaking the RX-8 for anything but a pure Japanese sports car. With its pumped guards, large wheel arches and fighter jet cockpit style windows, the RX-8 has a distinctive look that you’ll either love or hate.
                                         2011 Mazda rx 8
Performance buffs will want to go for the R3 edition, which comes with a stiffer suspension setup featuring Bilstein shocks, as well as 19-inch forged alloy wheels. Other goodies include a Bose premium audio system and Bluetooth connectivity.
                                        2011 Mazda rx 8
The interior is hard not to love, with its flowing, low-slung design emphasizing the car’s sportiness. Despite the car being described as having 2+2 seating, space in the rear is very limited and is suitable for carrying small children only. At least getting in and out of the back is quite easy thanks to the suicide rear doors whose design mean they can only be opened once the corresponding front door is opened.

The 275-horsepower Mazda MX-5 GT racecar, which competes in the 2011 Britcar Production GTN Championship, has inspired the Japanese firm's UK division to develop a pair of limited edition models based on the MX-5 and the Mazda2 for the local market.

The word "inspired" should be taken very loosely as the Sport Black Editions of the two Mazda models do not feature any performance upgrades and are all about bespoke color choices and additional standard features.
Starting with the MX-5 Sport Black, the special edition model is distinguished on the outside by a Brilliant Black powered retractable hard-top and dark gun metal 17-inch alloy wheels, while buyers can choose from three contrasting bodywork hues - Spirited Green metallic, Crystal White Pearlescent and Velocity Red mica.
Inside, the roadster model features a black leather interior with contrasting sand color stitching, Piano Black steering wheel and deco panel, a uniquely numbered interior plaque and Limited Edition floor mats.
The MX-5 Sport Black is based on the Sport Tech model with the 160HP 2.0-litre engine linked to a six-speed manual transmission.
Mazda said it plans to produce only 500 examples of the limited edition MX-5, each priced at 22,995 (OTR), or 360 more than the Sport Tech model on which it is based.
Moving on to the limited edition Mazda2 Black, the five-door hatchback is available with the same two-tone color choices as the roadster (a black vinyl roof and Spirited Green metallic, Crystal White Pearlescent or True Red for the body), and also features matt black 16-inch alloy wheels.
Other highlights include the standard front fog lights, privacy glass and a rear bumper in sports trim, plus unique Black Edition exterior badging, uniquely numbered interior plaque and Limited Edition floor mats.
Power comes from a 1.3-liter engine with 84-horses.
Production of the Mazda2 Black is limited to 618 units, with prices starting at 12,395 (OTR) for the True Red version and 12,815 for the other metallic and pearlescent colors.

Auto pricing website TrueCar studied the car buying behaviour of four million Gen Y (18 to 27 year-old) over a twenty-four month period and heres what they found.
Scion took the crown for top brand, with 37.4% of the market and for top model (the tC coupe), with 21.2%, while second place went to Mitsubishi (32.1%) and their Lancer sedan (20.3%).
Mazda was the third most visited brand for Gen Y buyers, though only 17th in terms of model. The top four vehicle choices were Japanese, with a German in seventh place and a South Korean in ninth.
American carmakers secured fifth place in the model line-up with the Ford Focus Coupe, even though Ford only scored a mere 5.1% of the market overall.
Nissan and Toyota scored big on Gen Y appeal, with Hyundai and Honda following close behind. Kristen Andersson, one of TrueCars automotive analysts describes the generation thusly:
Generation Y buyers want vehicles that look distinct and can be tailored to their individual tastes. Buyers from this generation are also looking for vehicles that have the technology features they are accustomed to built into the vehicle at an affordable price.

Mazda 3 Sedan

                                   Mazda 3 Sedan

                             Mazda 3 Sedan

The new Mazda 3 Sedan is completely positioned for the swiftly changing automotive market. It offers a mix of quality, styling, power, dynamics and fit and finish that meets the demands of today's customers. In typical Mazda fashion, this new Mazda 3 Sedan will present standard and optional equipment not found on other cars in its class - exactly what buyers want when seeking compact cars providing outstanding value.

                                        Mazda 3 Sedan

This model arrives with an impressive pedigree, for the first-generation Mazda 3 earned 90 major awards from expert critics and achieved 1.8 million sales around the world during the last five years. The Mazda 3 accounts for one third of Mazda's sales and even at the end of its build life, the first-generation version continued to earn accolades - a leading consumer magazine recently naming it as one of the most reliable compact sedans available.

                                    Mazda 3 Sedan

Mazda 3 Programme Manager Yoshiyuki Maeda established striving goals for the latest embodiment of the company's most admired car line, "We were determined to advance the Zoom-Zoom driving experience to fresh heights because that unique feeling lies at the very heart of Mazda. On the heels of the original Mazda 3's success, we aimed to again exceed the expectations of customers all over the world by a wide margin. This meant providing drivers with a sense of exhilaration - whether they were in motion, seated in the Mazda 3, or enjoying its appearance from outside."

Mazda mpv

                                 Mazda mpv
                                           Mazda mpv
                                              Mazda mpv
There is something you must know about the Mazda MPV and that unless you absolutely need a handier sized van and its trimmer ride there is nothing here you can’t get elsewhere in a larger size without paying more. Essentially, this is a small van for a small niche in the family vehicle segment.

The MPV is smaller inside than comparable priced vans from Chrysler and others yet still offers the same family friendly features such as a rear seat that folds into the floor, dual sliding side doors, and seating for seven. The decision point is whether Mazda’s tidier version is what you need because the MPV pricing does not provide any advantage short or long term over the competition. We felt that this Mazda was an agreeable ride, but it hardly has the zoom-zoom ability of its stablemates such as the most excellent RX-8, underrated Mazda Six, and Miata.

There is a lot to like with the Mazda MPV and that includes a peppy 200-hp 3.0L V6 engine, five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and options such as power sliding doors. For a young family this would be ideal, but it does not offer the sensational stow and go feature that the Chrysler vans offer. I like the idea of the MPV, but the annoying shift lever placement was a serious distraction. Every time I wanted to adjust the stereo or the temperature setting the lever got in the way. Very awkward.
                                               Mazda mpv

A turning radius that is quite large for its length makes the MPV more difficult to park than one would think, especially when compared to the ability of the new Toyota van to cut corners with ease. Handling is as fine as any van except last year’s Honda Odyssey.

ABS is standard, which is a must for a family vehicle, and you have your choice of two models: the base LX and well equipped ES. I would not consider the LX because nearly everything you need is an extra cost option such as front side airbags, traction control, and rear air conditioning.

Seating wise, you get second row bucket seats that can slide together for easier rear seat access or separated should the sibling decide to fight. The third row is a bench seat that folds flat into the floor. I found that using the bay created when the rear seat was upright was excellent for groceries and the low lift over height made is usable even when wearing shorter dresses. As for the comfort of the front seats, I was not pleased. Despite the many manual adjustments, even lumbar is offered, I could not find a position that was comfortable for longer trips. The dual sliding doors were very easy to use, although the remote did not clearly indicate which side you were opening. Best of all, the windows in the optional sliding doors have power windows that roll down. This is an excellent feature. The Mazda is quite easy to get in and out of and provides a fairly commanding view of the road. Despite this I never was comfortable in the MPV as it felt narrow and confining.
                                           Mazda mpv

I truly believe that Mazda’s pricing of this van needs to be rethought. Since it is priced so closely to the entry level Dodge, Toyota, and Honda vans one has to wonder if the added niftiness of the Mazda is worth it. One thing for sure is that if I bought one the first thing I would do is get larger tires with more offset rims to take advantage of the handling possibilities. As it is now, Mazda has placed tires on the MPV that don’t work well with chassis.
On the road the MPV does not respond well to strong sidewinds that makes steering corrections more complicated than one would initially think. The Mazda sports wagon would be a better choice for most people who don’t need the extra seating. I also felt that the view to the front was strangely limited by the position of the A pillars. All in all I would advise that you seriously consider the MPV if the dealer provides you with the payment you are after, but don’t misjudge this Mazda as a zoom-zoom.

Mazda cx 9

                                   Mazda cx 9
                                 Mazda cx 9
                            Mazda cx 9
If you keep up with the print mags, it would be easy to think that every journalist, PR flack and blogger loves Mazda's CX-9. Automobile Magazine made a spot for it on their All-Stars list, Motor Trend named it Sport Utility of the Year, Car & Driver thinks its one of the 5 Best Trucks of 2008, SEAMO crowned it their Family Car of the Year and USA TODAY even went as far as calling it "about perfect." We put 380 miles on the 7-seater in our best attempt to debunk the CX-9's mythical aura of SUV perfection and found most of the legend true.
                                        Mazda cx 9
Approaching the CX-9, one of the first thing you notice is its size. "Damn, that's big!" was a common sentiment of our friends. It's true. From afar, the car's 20-inch wheels and narrow greenhouse give the impression of a smaller, sportier vehicle. But up close, you realize you're gonna need a step ladder to wash the middle of this thing's roof. Mazda dug deep into its bag of sports car styling to make the 16.5-foot-long CX-9 look svelte. As on the smaller CX-7, the CX-9's windshield is low and long, more like an Italian supercar than a suburban soccer mom's ride. Those huge alloys sit under bulging fenders and wrapped in semi-low-profile rubber. A chrome-surrounded row of side windows narrows to an angled rear hatch topped with the requisite spoiler. In back, jeweled taillights sit above the rear fascia inset with twin chromed tailpipes.
                                     Mazda cx 9
Though the interior looks great, the design team should have been given actual examples of luxury cars to mimic rather than just photos. While Mazda used soft, buttery leather in the interior of the smaller CX-7, for the CX-9 it instead went with leather that almost exactly imitates the feel of high-grade vinyl. My wife complained more than once about sliding around in her seat because the leather offered no grip. (Keep reading to see why it wasn't because of enthusiastic driving.) And what exotic animal, exactly, are those oddly-textured gray inserts meant to imitate? Eel? Stingray? Opossum? To be fair, other than the seat covers feeling like a that of a bargain-bin office chair, they were easily adjustable and comfortable; just a little short of luxurious.
Inside the monstrous Mazda, it's easy to imagine the company's engineers studying hundreds of photos of luxury-car interiors, picking the best woodgrain trim from one and seat design and instrument layout from another. The end product looks great. The cream-colored (friends call it "Sand") leather seats are contrasted nicely by dark gray inserts. The chrome-edged, faux wood trim upgrades the cabin further and nicely ties in the brushed-aluminum door pulls. The seats electrically adjust eight ways, and at the push of a button toast your tush. Center stage on the CX-9's dashboard is the entertainment system, just what every couch needs for comfort completion.
